By the time PRONG had signed to Epic Records in 1989, the New York City post-metal triumvirate had already accomplished a lot. The band, formed by guitarist and vocalist Tommy Victor, soundman at the legendary club CBGB’s along with the club’s doorman Mike Kirkland and ex-Swans drummer Ted Parsons had already released two independent records: the Primitive Origins EP (1987) and Force Fed (1988).



The history of PRONG has cast a long shadow - bands like Korn, Slipknot and Nine Inch Nails openly acknowledge their influence. 2013 finds PRONG in its best spot in years: having released Carved Into Stone, an album that mines the best aspects of the band’s career and distills it into eleven songs: “It feels like the best parts of what we’ve done, just amped up to eleven!” says Tommy. “The music I’m making now feels like I’ve come full circle but with a lot more, dare I say, maturity” and having just come off a whirlwind run of Europe where the band played some of the biggest festivals interspersed with some headline shows, PRONG is ready for the future!
