NHAC invites you to the launch of our latest art instalment from the incredibly talented photographer Rosaline Shahnavaz.



Rosaline Shahnavaz: 'Nothing In The World But You'



This show exhibits a collection of intimate portraits taken by London College of Communication graduate Rosaline Shahnavaz. In this show Shahnavaz reveals some works from her large repertoire that mark a variety of relationships from over the years. Shahnavaz has been taking portraits of friends and partners almost obsessively for the last eight years, fascinated by the way photographs can capture someone’s essence.



Many photographers take portraits of the people in their lives. Even if their work is specialised in another field, it is difficult not to be drawn to understanding people through the lens. Shahnavaz uses the camera as a tool to develop relationships or initiate them, but ultimately her photographs reveal the true nature of her subjects and, in the process, reveal something of herself.



‘Nothing In The World But You’ invites you into the intimate experience shared between Shahnavaz and her subjects. These images illustrate a level of trust acquired to create raw portraits where the camera becomes secondary reflecting her organic and natural process. Shahnavaz’s use of analogue photography results in delicate images with a sensitive use of colour and light.



Join us for drinks and DJ Dominic Freeman will be playing at the Private View.



The exhibition will run until 5th March and will be available to view for free most Friday and Saturday nights from 8-9pm.
