About:

THE DANSE SOCIETY

The Danse Society are a post punk (the precursory term for Gothic rock ) group from Barsnley, England, active from 1980. The original line-up included Steve Rawlings (voice), Paul Nash (guitar), Lyndon Scarfe (keyboards), Tim Wright (bass) and Paul Gilmartin (drums). Lyndon Scarfe was replaced by David Whitaker (formally of band Music for Pleasure) after the Heaven is Waiting Album.

A campaign titled The Danse Society Reformation Plot was started on Facebook at the end of 2009 and succeeded in bringing most of the band back together. The reformed Danse Society, featuring new vocalist Maethelyiah from the group Blooding Mask, released their fourth studio album, Change of Skin, in July 2011. This was followed in November 2011 with the first single to be taken from the album, "God Cry". In April 2012 they released the second single from Change of Skin, "Vatican", backed with a reworking of their classic early song "Seduction". Their first live gig in 25 years was performed at Wave Gothic Treffen in May 2012, followed by selected festival dates and the addition of bassist Martin Roberts.

Their reputation is not to be overlooked having toured & played with the likes of: The Cult, U2, UK Decay, Spear of Destiny (Kirk Brandon Theatre of Hate) and Killing Joke!

EVERYONE AN ARMY

"Bringing together the weight of Oceansize with witty pop

sensibilities of Echo and the Bunnymen, Everyone an Army

have been doing the rounds for a few years now and proceed

to elate everyone in the room. They reek of energy and pace

whilst lulling you with effortless melody. 3 releases available

E.P, A Coastal Dance on The Grave of Romance and

The Thundering Triumph of Knowing What's Right.

“Three genuinely brilliant songs of disaffected malcontents

who have huge potential.” – Tom White (alreadyheard.com)

“… Murky, gloomy, loud and at times thunderous – this is a

brilliant release which I can only imagine gets louder and

increasingly more overwhelming on

stage.” – Conner O’ Brien (Alterthepress.com)"
