About this Event

Anti-Nowhere League supported by Anti-Pasti, Hospital Food and The Kingcrows

Formed in 1980 …..

The Anti Nowhere League set out on the road in 1980 to prove they could be the worst band on Gods earth loud, violent, obnoxious yobbos with one mission... to get banned from every TV show, radio station and newspapers as possible just for a laugh......they were hated by the general public as well as 'real' musicians who thought they were a disgrace to the music business(and of course the fact they were pulling more people in their live shows than they were).....with numerous encounters with the authorities they have continued to play and release new material away from the public eye....In this day and age it does not seem quite as big a deal as it was back then when they stood alone now a few of the 'real' bands have taken up the 'flag' to be original with attitude...long may independent bands continue keeping the music live and real.....long live the League

Founded in 1978 in Derby, England, Anti-Pasti comprised of Martin Roper on vocals, Dugi Bell on guitar and with the addition of Stu Winfield on bass and Stan Smith on drums, released their debut EP, "Four Sore Points", featuring the all time punk rock classic "No Government", on their own Dose record label. They played many gigs in and around Derby and rapidly built up a large following.

Winfield and Smith were soon replaced by Kev Nixon on drums and Will Hoon on bass before the group signed to Rondelet Records and re-released their "Four Sore Points" EP and the new "Let Them Free" single in January 1981. Later that year, Anti-Pasti released their debut album, "The Last Call". It reached number 1 in the Indie Charts and spent seven weeks in the UK Albums Chart, peaking at No. 31. Their growing profile was confirmed when a third single, "Six Guns", appeared at the end of the year and reached number 1 in the UK Indie Chart, as did the successful joint venture with The Exploited on a 12" single EP, "Don't Let 'Em Grind You Down". Anti-Pasti along with Exploited and Discharge were part of the now legendary Apocalypse Now Tour which toured the UK in 1981.

Single "East To The West" was released in 1982, which preceded the final Anti-Pasti album and single, both titled "Caution In The Wind", which featured Will Hoon's brother Ollie on guitar. A self-titled singles retrospective surfaced a year later, but the group split in 1983 following the departure of Roper. There was a reunion in 1995, leading to mini-tours of the UK and Germany.

Anti-Pasti's 2012 line up consists of Martin Roper, Kev Nixon, Olli Hoon & Ben Hanson, three of the original five members.

2014 sees a new era for the band with Martin departing from the vocal duties to be replaced by GeZ Addictive

Started in mid 2009 by Nathan , Scoffa and Ben. It took a couple of months to get a drummer, Russ. We did our first 8 track demo that got us our first gig, supporting Abrasive Wheels in Harrogate, that was October 09. by Jan we did a great gig in Derby with Peter and the Test Tube Babies. By the end of January we did a gig with Red Alert, we played awful and Scoffa asked Russ to leave the band, enter Kev . He had played with alot of great bands, so we were up and running fast. We did another demo ,it was alot better than first one after our 3rd gig. We had a few gigs lined up and then Ben got a phone call from scoffa saying he was on a bus moving to Brighton and leaving the band for good, so start again with a new singer, enter Ryan. We did about 18 months with this line up, even recorded what we though would be an album, but as soon as it was done, bang Ryan was no longer in the band. This was November 2011. We had a meeting to decide if that was it with the band, we all said we enjoyed the band so we needed to get another singer. We started rehearsing with a great mate called Mark, but we had a gig in Stoke and it was too soon he hasn't had enough time to learn the songs, so we all said we could do it as a 3 piece ,as it was only a one off. We played to about 15 people, but it was good, even a couple of people said stay as we were, as a 3 piece, with Nathan and Ben sharing the lead and backing vocals, but we wanted to be a 4 piece, so carried on rehearsing as a 4 piece. out of blue we got a gig with 999. There was no way we could turn it down so played again as a 3 piece, and it was great. Too many people who knew us said best we had sounded, so we decided that's how the band would stay, plenty of gigs some great ones, but plenty of playing to no one too, but all fun, every bit of money we got we saved to do the album, we recorded it and put it out ourselves in march 2013. We did some great gigs got to September and time for a change again, Kev, who had put his other band back together had a fall out with Ben so was asked to leave, the album was good, we also put out a 10 track demo album, and had some great gigs lined up, Nathan plays in a local cover band, so he asked the drummer if he could cover the gigs. He promised him no money bottom of bill, so he sold it well, the gigs were great, he was asked to join the band, so back to a 3 piece. So in 5 years a few demos one album some t-shirts, played with some great bands, some well known, some not, played to loads of empty pubs but some busy ones too made loads of great friends We have been slagged off by people who don't know us, but those who know us well, know were good, honest people. So here's to 2014 and beyond, let's see where it goes..................

THE KINGCROWS (Phil E Stine - vocals, Lee J. - guitar, Rocco - bass and Ratbag - drums) are a band determined to do their own thing their own way. Combining the energy of punk, the flash of sleaze and the sheer reckless abandon of being in a band with no aspirations towards a career or commercial acceptance - simply the rush of playing noisy, filthy rock 'n' roll for the pure hell of it - they fire off compact bursts of concentrated rock fury, infused with a wicked sense of humour. Since 2006 the Kingcrows have torn up the stages of the North with many notable bands including Spear Of Destiny, UK Subs, Rat Scabies & Brian James (ex-Damned), the Rezillos, TV Smith (ex Adverts), Anti Nowhere League, Tokyo Dragons, Vice Squad, the Lurkers, Adam Bomb, 999, Guitar Gangsters, the Vibrators, Red Alert, the Outcasts and Peter & The Test Tube Babies, as well as innumerable other local, national and international acts. They also appeared at the massive Nice N Sleazy punk festival in Morecambe every year between 2010 and 2014. The band have so far released three 7-track EPs - "Carrion Regardless" in 2008 (now deleted), "A Murder Most Foul" in 2009 and "Up Before The Beak" in 2011, plus a 3-track single "Magdelene" in 2010 and the latest four-tracker "Gonna Grow Up One Day..." in 2012. A compilation of their work from 2009 to 2011 has been released by STP Records under the title "Corvus Maximus". The releases from 2009 onwards have been released for worldwide download via iTunes, Amazon, eMusic, Play.com and all other major channels. The Kingcrows intend to spread their insanity further and bring their manic, fun rock 'n' roll show to as many people as possible. Be ready.
