About this Event

Underground DIY psych-grunge heroes THE LOVELY EGGS come goffin' around in Bath for the night delivering their frenzied, psych-pop tracks from the critically acclaimed fourth LP This Is Our Nowhere.

“You won't hear another band like this anywhere between now and the the end of the millenium. The Lovely Eggs are just brilliant!”- Huw Stephens, Radio One

Support from psychedelic, post-punk three piece CANDY DARLING. Rapidly gaining a reputation as one of the South West's most fierce new outfits fronted by the captavating Emily Breeze.

“Candy Darling have lit the figurative tinderbox. Sounding as menacing as Suicide, their Martin Rev inspired keyboards support Emily Breeze's lyrics which are every bit as tortured as a Lou Reed/Trent Reznor hybrid" (N.M.E.)

✴ THE LOVELY EGGS ✴

Following the release of their critically acclaimed album This is Our Nowhere last year and their sold-out tour in November, Champions of the UK underground scene The Lovely Eggs hit the road again in April for another round of sensational punk rock gigging. This time they alight in Leeds, Newcastle, Sheffield and Cardiff as well as playing in Cambridge, Chelmsford, Hastings, Brighton, Bath and Leicester, with a very special surprise London venue to be announced soon.

This Is Our Nowhere garnered a 8/10 review in NME and much support from BBC 6 Music, including two sessions for Marc Riley in 2015 alone, who made their most recent single ‘Goofin’ Around (in Lancashire)’ one of his top tracks for 2015. The 7" was released on limited edition and mega-collectible “fried-egg vinyl” on their own label Egg Records. The song joins the oddball punk rock pair (Holly Ross and David Blackwell) on their screeching, psych-soaked quest to find a house party through the streets of their home town of Lancaster. The single is accompanied by artwork and a video by cult underground artist and baboon keeper Casey Raymond (who recently won a music video award for the Sleaford Mods/Leftfield video for "Head and Shoulders" and has worked with Cate Le Bon, Charlotte Church and John Grant to name a few).

The Lovely Eggs continue to cement their reputation as one of the most exciting, innovative and genuine bands of the Great British Underground scene and have been selling out venues across the country without the help of management, booking agent or record label support.

With songs firmly set in the hum drum of everyday life, The Lovely Eggs turn normality on its head, squeezing it through their peculiar surreal mincing machine and blending it with fuzzed out guitar and crashing drums. For Holly and David being in a band is a way of life. And they approach it in a unique way laughing in the face of life's absurdities. They are a rallying point for anyone that sees life for what it is. A mess. A wonderful, car crash of experiences, greeting each new chance with a cheeky grin, a sneer and a big fuck you to the pricks.

✴ CANDY DARLING ✴

Candy Darling are a four piece psychedelic, post punk band from Bristol. They play gothic, sleaze, disco music with a rock n roll sensibility inspired by the likes of Patti Smith, The Jesus and Mary Chain and L.C.D Soundsystem. 2015 saw the release of the band’s first two singles, "Money" and "Going Straight" which both received press adulation from N.M.E, Artrocker and BBC Radio airplay. Having gained a fearsome live reputation from playing packed out shows in Bristol and beyond, 2016 will see Candy Darling recording their debut album and embarking on a U.K tour.

“The most fun you ever had whilst being told to go f**k yourself, mean assed, fizzing with electricity and winningly confident.” (Artrocker)

"Emily Breeze is a bona fide star. Her intense musical vision is a jaw dropping experience" (Louder Than War)

✴ THE HYSTERICAL INJURY ✴

The Hysterical Injury are a noise-pop brother sister duo from Bath. Huge walls of sound from Annie's bass stack are the backdrop for her contrasting, sweet and playful melodies all locked down by Tom's relentless powerhouse grooves.

"The Hysterical Injury is a duo of Annie and Tom Gardiner on bass and drums respectively, and they kick up an astonishing noise. You just wouldn't believe it was two people. Live, they're riveting. I've never seen somebody with that kind of control and power... if you get a chance to see the Hysterical Injury, here is why you ought to go."

Tom Robinson of The Hysterical Injury's performance at BBC 6 Music Festival.

These guys don't gig oftern in their home-city - very excited to hear them back at Moles!

"Beats as infectious as 14th Century London" - Artrocker * * * *

"A debut to be dazzled by" - Venue * * * *

"Things of beastly beauty" - The Girls Are * * * *

✴ DRONE SOUL ✴

What Drone Soul bring to the table is a sheer bleak nihilism delivered with the drive and intensity of early 1980s post punk, screaming elements of old Bristol bands like The Pop Group and the punkier edge of Blurt.
