Year Of The Dog

Smashing the festival, radio, and TV circuits alike, the new brass-house-soul sound from Cardiff and Bristol are selling out gigs and rising fast.

Having built a reputation as one of the most unforgettable dance inducing live bands on the underground scene, Year of the Dog have blasted the main stages at festivals including Noz Stock, Cheltenham Jazz and Cardiff Pride and have been interviewed by BBC Radio stations across the country. The six-piece who formed at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2018 are also recognised for their star appearance as Swing Band in Netflix’s smash hit series, Sex Education, performing their original tune Run These Streets in series 1, ep 3.

Second Pagoda

Like a star forms from the dust of dead stars, Second Pagoda originated from the cooling remnants of old university bands. As two guitarists and a singer journeying through the cosmos and jamming in their poky London flats, they attracted a bassist and drummer. The added gravity reignited the band as an indie/pop/rock furnace with intricate arpeggios, meaty basslines and pounding drums at its core. With influences like Matt Corby, Grizzly Bear and The Strokes, their eclectic numbers are not to be missed.

Fly Trap Honey

Fly Trap Honey is Hendo, Etienne, Alex, and Pedro. The band formed in Durham in 2019, playing a handful of shows in Durham before entering an enforced live hibernation. An EP and single, Stolen Days, was recorded through the airwaves, and though they couldn’t play it live yet, it would become a fan favourite. Fast forward to the summer of 2021 and the band ended the long dry spell with sets at the Durham University fashion show – Europe’s largest annual student lead fundraiser. A new single Away was recorded in Alex’s bedroom, and the band hit the ground running. In the space of a couple of months they grabbed their first radio play, their first headline show in Newcastle, their first shows in London and Edinburgh and shows at larger venues like the Georgian Theatre in Stockton, culminating at the famous Camden Assembly. With new material on the way and a growing live presence, this is not one to miss.
Mosaics

If you’re one for arm-in-arm anthemic choruses, punchy rock drums and 90’s inspired grunge/shoegaze guitar tones; introducing Mosaics formed in Lincoln.

Noting sonic influences such as Sam Fender, Stereophonics and DMA’s, Mosaics fuse the best of 90’s Britpop with the contemporary shimmer of modern indie to create their unique “nostalgic indie-rock” sound.

Their debut single ‘Weekend in Paris’ made the rounds on major TV shows (Killing Eve S4, The Outlaws, Marriage), and the subsequent music video debuted on Channel 4’s ‘Sunday Brunch’.

Now, after honing their craft on the live circuit and showcasing their catchy hooks on radio, Mosaics proudly present their new single; ‘Technicolour’.
