Texas Banjo Massacre

We are delighted to have this exciting new Chester group (formed January this year) performing at The Flispside.

Through their mutual disillusionment with just about everything, except music and all things five stringed and banjo shaped, Dave Steele and Pat Ranscombe set about changing the universe.(This is often referred to as a midlife crisis).

And so, in January 2016 Texas Banjo Massacre was born. The aforementioned musical troubadours teamed up with a posse of wandering souls and began choogling.

Based in the North West’s cultural Mecca aka Chester they are

Jordan Curley Vocals

Pat Ranscombe Guitars, vocals, banjos

Dave Steele Guitars, vocals, banjos

Pete Atwood Bass

Tony O’leary Keyboards

Barbara Grande Gil Drums

They play a blend of edgy, garage country folk rock, with a bit of banjo somewhere.

Already they are creating a rumble with a clutch of shows in and around Chester and a radio session to boot. Currently writing and recording material for a forthcoming project which is yet to be announced, 2016 is shaping up to be an exciting prospect for these guys.

Check out Texas Banjo Massacre’s fantastic live session which was aired on Flispside Radio recently.
