Snake Oil & Harmony! It all began in a parking lot. Tyketto had been hanging around theDownload festival for much of the day, taking in the atmosphere, meeting long time friends and waiting until our evening slot to play. My agent mentioned to me, "Oh Dan Reed Network have just arrived". The DRN were scheduled to play directly after us and I was hoping to meet them because, in one of those strange ways that the road winds, we had never met before. Despite moving in so many of the same circles, the two bands were never before in the same place at the same time. So there I am walking across a muddy parking lot as DRN are getting out of their transport vehicle. When Dan turns around and sees me I get a big, warm smile and a proper "hello" hug. This is the beginning of what has become a very special friendship. We are kindred souls with very different backgrounds and life stories. As we both regularly play around the world in a solo acoustic format it didn't take long to come around to the idea of trying out an acoustic duet tour. Thus was born "Snake Oil & Harmony", a unique presentation of two vocalists/guitarists presenting and re-interpreting their songs, not separately, but together. Our first tour was in the UK in the spring of last year. No one knew exactly how it would pan out, least of all us!! But friends, family, fans and critics alike welcomed it warmly and renowned rock reviewer Dave Ling even went so far as to say it was one of his favorite shows of the entire year! It's music, it's story telling, a touch of philosophy and the occasional cartoon voices. It's a room full of friends and it's a very good feeling. So now we are doing it again this year, with new plans to play further afield and perhaps writing and recording new music together.And so Dan & I would like to welcome all of you to the "Snake Oil & Harmony" page and thank you for your kindness and support.Let's see what we can all do together!
