Stand up for Labour holds an event on behalf of Guildford Labour Party that will raise vital funds for the Red Cross Refugee Appeal. Taking place at the buzzing Boileroom (13 Stokes Fields, Guildford GU1 4LS), the night features two of our favourite comedians plus a legend of performance poetry.



Opening act Gráinne Maguire has appeared on Comedy Central’s ‘Stewart Lee’s Alternative Comedy Experience”, RTE’s “The Year That’s In It”, BBC 3′s Free Speech, Radio 5 Live’s “Seven Day Sunday” & “Hit List”, Radio 4’s “The Now Show” “Stephen K Amos’ An Idiots Guide” “Front Row” and “Women’s Hour”. Gráinne is a Labour member and has performed at Stand up for Labour gigs in England, Scotland and Wales. She has recently appeared on 'Panorama' and 'Question Time'. Steve Gribbin was part of double act Skint Video and appeared on the cult TV show Saturday Night Live as well as touring with Red Wedge. Steve has since gone on to forge a successful solo career and appears regularly at London's Comedy Store in its topical comedy night 'Cutting Edge'. Steve songwriting and jokes have gone down a treat at Stand up for Labour events all over the country (Norwich, Wirral, Bolton, Nottingham, Witney, Burton). Attila the Stockbroker is a punk poet who was launched into public consciousness by Radio One DJ John Peel in 1982/83, and he has spent 35 years touring the world, performing well over 3,000 gigs in 24 countries and releasing 40 LPs/EPs/CDs and seven books of poetry. The night is hosted by Crispin Flintoff, who set up Stand up for Labour in 2012 and has now organised over 180 morale-boosting, fundraising events in England, Scotland and Wales.
