About this Event

Lovestarrs

Described sonically as the British love child of George Michael and Katy Perry, Lovestarrs’ energetic pop records promise to boost your mood and make you dance.

As sister & brother, Sarah and Hamish McIntosh were born in Oxford and raised in a little village called Highclere in Hampshire outside of London. Their parents’ musical taste was mostly 80’s vinyl, which sparked their interest in artists such as Tears For Fears, Prince, and Depeche Mode. While Sarah & Hamish

developed their passion for music and had been playing together throughout their childhood, it wasn’t until Sarah & Hamish joined forces with third band-mate, George Hinton, that they each decided to pursue music professionally.

With an undeniable chemistry and confidence as a group, Sarah, Hamish & George pursued their first major goal as a band: landing a major recording deal. In 2011, they signed to EMI Records under the band name ‘The Good Natured.’ The whirlwind soon picked up as the trio began touring the world with bands such as Imagine Dragons and Bastille. While signed to EMI, The Good Natured also had the incredible opportunity to headline BBC’s Introducing Stage in Glastonbury, which aided in building an even stronger presence online. With a debut album nearly completed, the trio received the shocking news that the label had been bought out, and that their time with EMI was to meet an abrupt end. When their record deal dissolved, unable to keep their music, each band member took the time to mourn the loss of all their hard work, and George decided the music industry was not for him. Undeterred, Sarah and Hamish saw this as a sign, and decided to take on the challenge of re-branding themselves as Lovestarrs, continuing on with

their musical journey.

Within a year, the duo bounced back from a low-point and released their first EP independently online. Championed by the likes of The Guardian and Popjustice, the release gained the attention of exciting new indie label DEFDISCO, whose ethos puts creative control in the hands of the artist. The duo decided to turn to their fan base to fund and pay for the productions of Lovestarrs’ songs via the crowd funding

platform Kickstarter. This allowed them to have complete control and ownership of their music.

On June 3rd 2016, the band will release ‘Get Your Sexy On’, an encouraging ode to lovers intertwined in arapturous and motivating melody.
