"Esteemed guitarist and songwriter, Josh Farro, brings listeners a bright new sound through his debut album, ‘Walkways’ — produced by Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Modest Mouse) offering music lovers a selection of melodic, synth driven tracks with lively guitar hooks.
Farro was a founding member of Grammy winning, alternative rock group, Paramore, with record sales surpassing 10 million units worldwide with hits including ‘Misery Business’, ‘Only Exception’ and ‘Decode’. Co-writing the band’s first three albums, the hits continued to mount and Farro’s songwriting skills were recognized in 2010 after winning an MTV award for Best Alternative Band. Farro has announced the release of his eagerly awaited debut solo album, ‘Walkways’, available from February 5th 2016. ‘Walkways’ is Farro’s first solo debut since exiting Paramore in 2010. Farro mentions, ‘The album represents the journey I’ve been on for the last couple of years from a musical and personal standpoint. It encompasses songs about love, courage and heartache. I feel that this album is the stepping stone to the start of a new chapter."
"So yeah, that part about him being a good songwriter? “Cliffs” leaves nothing to chance, a technicolor panorama of a pop-rock song that leaves us wondering why he’d ever wait this long. His vocals sound a little like the Early November’s Ace Enders, a little like Owl City’s Adam Young; he’s earnest, he’s passionate, and he’s got the timbre to swim through the lush soundscapes he’s built himself." - Billboard
Unsurprisingly, given that this is from the man who co-wrote the likes of ‘Misery Business’, ‘That’s What You Get’ and ‘The Only Exception’, the songwriting here is as excellent as it is direct… ‘Walkways’ succeeds both as a reintroduction to Josh and as a document that propels him back into the world in his own impressive right.’ - Kerrang!
It's intimate, it's honest, and it still has that signature guitar-driven hook (which makes sense — he's been playing since he was 13). - Teen Vogue
