Forgotten In Idomeni: A Photographic Journal
About this Event
The Boileroom in collaboration with Guildford People to People and Together Films present:
Forgotten In Idomeni: A Photographic Journal
Photographs by Daniel Alvarez-Martinez
Film Screening: They Will Have To Kill Us First: Musicians In Exile
A photo exhibition and written journal of one of Europe's most horrific refugee camps; Idomeni on the Greek-Macedonian border.
Photographer Daniel Alzarez-Martinez documents his time there through searingly honest black and white shots of everyday life at the camp; alongside his eye-opening journal entries. Alvarez-Martinez will also be holding a short talk and Q&A session during the evening.
The exhibition will be on display from 19th-25th September at The Boileroom, to coincide with the venue's 10th Birthday celebrations.
For the opening night, we will also be screening docu-film They Will Have To Kill Us First: a story of Malian musicians in exile produced by Together Films; who will be hosting a Q&A session afterwards.
The film follows the story of Mali’s musical heroes as they fight for their right to sing.
