About this Event

After our successful launch last month, My Soul Music announce their second event taking place on Saturday 26th November 2016 at the infamous Notting Hill Arts Club.

This month we are supporting up and coming artists and producers carving the way for a new generation of soulful R&B artists. From Neo Soul to Future R&B our November artists all have something unique to offer the music scene as we head into 2017.

Emmavie Mbongo is a self taught singer/songwriter, producer and occasional DJ from London. Specialising in a form of limitless, souldful RnB, her credits spawn across a number of artists' work both in the UK and internationally including collaborations with IAMNOBODI, ROM, Dornik, Alpha, Barney Artist & Jay Prince.

Following a successful feature on a white label release with Soulection, Emmavie went on to perform as part of their Soulection Sound of Tomorrow World Tour to a sell out audience at KOKO London. Other high profile performance include support for Eric Bellinger at The Jazz Cafe, a headline gig at XOYO and Instant in Budapest.

Crowned BBC Radio 1Xtra's "Best of British" for an unreleased song featured on forthcoming album "Honeymoon" as well as regular plays on Reprezent Radio Radar radio London, THIS IS WESTSIDE, Hoxton FM, PULSE 88, THE BEAT 99.9FM, FM Dejavu 105.5 and Rinse FM, Emmavie is set to solidify her position as one of the UK’s most sought after female producers in 2017.

@Shaé, a 21-year-old singer songwriter originally from North West London who pulls influences from artists such as Erykah Badu, Jhené Aiko, Amy Winehouse and SZA, combines her soulful velvet tones with an authentic English twang, exciting her listeners with truthful lyrics, a flawless vocal range and effortless raps.

Gaining rapid expansion in her following online over the past 2 years and gaining recognition from artists such as Tory Lanez, Nadia Rose and producing duo DrVades Shae she was invited to perform alongside London based Hip Hop Duo Krept & Konan on their ‘The Long Way Home Tour’ and has recently been in the studio working on a collaboration with Kojey Radical

Already supported by the MOBO Awards (Official)s, who selected her to take part in the Girls I Rate Songwriting Masterclass Weekender, headed by award winning songwriter Carla Marie Williams and having featured her in the 2016 Artists To Watch, we're thrilled to have Shae perform at My Soul Music at the beginning of what will no doubt be a busy time ahead!

When you hear Zulu's gritty, raw and deeply soulful vocal you will instantly know why we knew he had to be a part of the My Soul Music family. As part of the Orphgang Creative Collective (featuring Intalekt/ Kojey Radical / TINYMAN / Christopher Blacc) and now managed by Kaiya Milan, Zulu has spent the last year working on his music and developing his sound.

After a successful Summer featuring for Kojey Radical at various festivals and a USA tour leading vocals for Damian Lazarus and The Ancient Moons (with another scheduled for 2017), it's clear to see that it won't be long before this hugely talented artist's name will be recognised as an artist in his own right.

Citing influences such as Fella Kuti, Busta Rhymes, Erykah Badu and inspired by his OBE awarded father (Peter Badejo recognised for his contribution to African Contemporary Dance) Zulu states that his music is an art form, an expression of his thoughts and creativity. 'I want people to listen to my music because they want to listen to my music, I hope people perceive me in their own way, without preconceptions and with whatever they come with'.
