PATS Therapy Dog Session
About this Event
Stressed out from studying? Are you in need of some time out with a furry friend? Come along to Hari's Bar on Thursday to spend a half hour playing with the wonderful Pets as Therapy dogs for FREE!
Research has shown that playing with or petting an animal can increase levels of the stress-reducing hormone oxytocin and decrease production of the stress hormone cortisol – just what you need during the busy exam period!
Pets as Therapy is a charity which provides therapeutic visits to a variety of venues, including nursing homes, special needs schools and hospices, as well as universities.
On Thursday 26th January, Hari's Bar will be filled with Pets as Therapy volunteers and their dogs who can tell you more about the charity and its work, as well as giving you the opportunity to pet and play with their dogs.
*Please note – numbers for this session are limited in order to ensure the welfare of dogs and volunteers – please stop by the Activity Office in the Students' Union to sign up and retreive your ticket . TICKETS CANNOT BE RESERVED ONLINE
