Tankus The Henge at The Winchester

About this Event

TANKUS THE HENGE LIVE AT THE WINCHESTER

Superlatives are used far too frequently in the music business, but Tankus the Henge truly are the ultimate feel-good band. They come from a background of vaudeville and gypsy carnival, but it’s coupled with a commercial songwriting nous and flair for showmanship that makes them even greater than the sum of their parts.

Blessed with a charismatic cast of characters, Tankus the Henve are uplifting, uninhibited, eccentric, wondrously energetic and beautifully tuneful. One of the best live bands you’ll ever see. Any other band who billed themselves as “the most fantastic band in the world” would rightly quake in their boots at having to live up to such fanfare. Tankus the Henge, a powerhouse five-piece, go on stage and deliver something that defies you to contradict them!

Jaz Delorean - vocals, piano, accordion, trombone

Chris Owen - Guitar, vocals,

Mason - bass, vocals

Jake Stoddart - trumpet, vocals

Will Stanley - drums

SUPPORT BANDS

WIKKAMAN

Presenting a quintet of Dorset bred musicians and vocalists, a collective of singers, actors and musicians (The Huckleberries, Yellow Taxi) with a legacy as performance artistes. Wikkaman are an onstage act and acoustic strolling band supporting arts, music festivals and open-air performance. Think dark folk cabaret with a Jurassic twist.

MIA AND THE MOON

Dubbed “Mesmerising” by Mel B of the Spice Girls, “Visually and Artistically Beautiful” by Rush, and “Fresh New Talent” by Vintage TV, this is the story of two sisters who began singing together as toddlers at National Bluegrass Festivals alongside musical parents – their father performed with Dolly Parton while mother, Kathy wrote the song Kaleidoscopes – which became a song of much importance further down the line… Mary‐Anne’s own songs ‘Solitary Confinement’ and ‘Scenario’ were remixed by Dutch Producer; Marco V in 2009, reaching the top ten dance chart through Radio 1 air-play, while Laura performed worldwide onboard Luxury Cruise Ships, yachts, for hotels and was a guest vocalist at the 2011 New Orleans Jazz Festival. Combining early folk festival influences with the urban, contemporary styles of today, ‘Mia and the Moon’ officially launched in 2012 and have honed a distinctive, gospel sound, reaching out to people of all ages with timeless musical style.
