About LDF 2017:

After much anticipation, Liverpool Disco Festival reveals a breathtaking first wave line up, with gospel-raised powerhouse vocalist ‘D-Train’ (You’re The One For Me, Keep On) and internationally renowned house music icon Ultra Nate (Free, Deeper Love) heading the live acts. In the booth, Tony Humphries will be revisiting the legendary Zanzibar club, the institution which gave rise to the soulful and gospel-infused Jersey Sound. UK disco don Joey Negro appears on the bill alongside NYC re-edit maestro Danny Krivit, and John Morales will be revisiting his time at the famous Studio 54.

Jellybean Benitez, producer of Madonna’s ‘Holiday’ and Whitney Houston’s ‘Love Will Save The Day’ appears alongside Nicky Siano, the selector who held a famous residency at The Gallery NYC and is credited with helping to launch the careers of musical icons such as Grace Jones, Loleatta Holloway and sorely missed house music maestro, Frankie Knuckles. Disco culture historian and prolific producer Lenny Fontana is best known for his underground smash ‘What You Need’, produced under the name Powerhouse featuring Duane Harden, and Chicago’s finest Rahaan and Jamie 3:26 will be bringing their unique Windy City flavour to the mix.

There is also a strong UK presence, with Haçienda resident Graeme Park, trademark eclectician Mr Scruff and Z Records compilation artist Red Greg all appearing. Hustle and Southport Weekender favourites Spen & Karizma are set to deliver their looped and chopped disco-house sensation, and the heavyweight headliners will be supported by an international roster of residents including Neil Piece, Ronnie Herel, Davide Fiorese and Kamma Masalo. It almost goes without saying that demand for this year’s festival will be huge. We strongly advise booking tickets early so you can join us in making history!

Being the 30th Anniversary means that SUNcéBeat & Hustle will be teaming up to bring you not only all the best parts that made the first Liverpool Disco Festival so special, but adding some of the quality music that made Southport Weekender so special.

Southport Weekdender :

Saturday May 6th 2017 is a very important date for so many people who will be attending the 2nd Liverpool Disco Festival. It sees the weekend of the 30th anniversary of the Legendary Southport Weekender, An event that has done so much for the music we all love. having hosted some huge artists from Chaka Khan to Jill Scott, A Tribe Called Quest to Gregory Porter who openly said on Radio that it helped launch his career, plus countless other huge Artists way too many to mention, from Lolleasta Holloway & Martha Wash to Roy Ayers & Gangstarr The list of DJs over the past 30 years makes absolutely incredible reading

We are extremely proud to be hosting this & being such a special occasion next years Liverpool Disco Festival will see many aspects of the Weekender being showcased
