The team behind WRONG Festival have put together a jam packed bill of filthy riffs and weirdness for your ears, once again returning to the Invisible Wind Factory, but this time in it's fantastic new basement venue, the IWF Substation. The lineup consists of every active band on the Loner Noise record label roster, plus some that are set to release music through the label at some point in the future.

BAND BIOS >>>



Elevant

Elevant are a visceral, exciting and smart rock band. Able to blend genres effortlessly whilst always retaining their own sound that can kick you in the gut or softly soothe (on occasion), they spin dark tales of modern day disillusionment. They combine crushing riffs with warped sonic textures and irresistible grooves, all whilst maintaining a knack for infectious hooks. Their new EP has seen widespread acclaim, as well as playlist spots on radio stations such as KEXP and KCRW in the US, as well as others worldwide.



SPQR

Listening to SPQR is like being a passenger in a speeding car, at 2am, with a body in the boot and a driver you’re pretty sure put it there. They’re like a musical representation of the minds of Cronenberg and Lynch, bending a sinister slink to their dirty art rock. The rhythm section of Bex Denton and Jack Sanders provide the foundation for Peter Harrison's freaky guitar colourations and his intensely passionate, crystal clear voice to burrow into your mind. Recently featured in The Quietus, they're in a rude run of form in anticipation of their debut EP, The House that Doubt Built.



Gravves

Matching Future of the Left noise and humour to Queens of the Stone Age hooks and seductive sleaze, Gravves are noise merchants bar none. With their debut EP Rattle garnering acclaim and bagging them a host of festival appearances this year, their live ferocity matches the record. They occupy that space where a strange duality of punk fury, alt-rock hugeness and truly infectious songs coexist. Blasts of vicious feedback live alongside a sinister swagger in fantastic songs.



Kapil Seshasayee

Kapil Seshasayee creates avant pop bar none, a sound unlike any other. A one man combination of Scott Walker, Mark Hollis, Bjork, and Richard Dawson, creating something wholly unique. He combines Big Black style drum machine beats with thundering baritone guitar, stunning vocals and and a penchant for unorthodox instrumentation such as the aquaphone. Truly experimental yet still accessible. He was also recently featured in The Quietus talking about his forthcoming concept album about the Indian Caste System.



Pocket Apocalypse

Pocket Apocalypse are epic and intimate all at once. Effortlessly blending unpretentious post rock grandeur with alternative rock and progressive flourishes, their songwriting is taut and rich with experience, the band playing off each other effortlessly. Frontman Nick Jones' passionate and absorbing vocals can range from a delicate whisper to soaring and melodious and to a righteous barbaric yawp. His and Chris Catterall's guitars intricately weave together, spiralling in tandem whilst in a rhythm section bar none, Phil Dunn (Drums) and Leandro Cuzzocrea (Bass), Lock into unison and lend their songs not only hypnotic grooves, but a craftsman's detail.



Black Pudding

Black Pudding are a garage rock band with a twisted sense of humour. Born from the ashes of Leeds noiseniks Stilts, they filter their righteous anger through a seductive veneer, with a knowing wink and a punk sneer. With a touch of the Ty Segall/Thee Oh Sees thickness to their riffs, The Wytches' foreboding gloom and The Cramps' weirdness, they have everything a growing boy needs. Their forthcoming singles Sci-Fi Si and Tillagio have already been playlisted on KEXP.



Salt the Snail

Salt the Snail are raucous, hardcore inflected punk rock, with their tongues placed firmly in their cheeks, and their mic stands probably in two pieces. With an unbelieveable start to their career, they've managed to play with F****d Up and The Membranes in their first run of gigs, and are set to release a single with Loner Noise this year. (Excuse the asterisks but you have to get around facebook's profanity screen for ads somehow)



Bleach Sweets

Born from frustration and boredom, Bleach Sweets are a savage noise rock two piece, their songs bristling with acidic humour and equally acidic feedback. They come on like the mutant child of the Melivns, The White Stripes and Frankie Boyle, but with all nuance removed.
