"One Of These Days" Album Launch Party -

The Haggis Horns won’t need an introduction to any followers of funk as they are at the very pinnacle of the scene. After fifteen years of tearing up clubs and festivals at home in the U.K. and internationally too they are gearing up to release their fourth album, the second on their own Haggis Records label. A band at the top of their game, The Haggis Horns are a 8-piece live extravaganza combining heavy breakbeat funk, soul, hip-hop and afrobeat. After the success of 'Hot Damn!' 'Keep On Moving' and 'What Comes To Mind' their next album shows the boys blasting out their unique brand of dance floor funk with regular collaborators Lucinda Slim and John McCallum on tracks ranging from up beat breaks to down tempo slinkyness. Also on the album is rapper Doc Brown who helps create a distinctive hip-hop feel that runs through their latest studio offering.

Live, The Haggis Horns are a funk-fuelled powerhouse that rock audiences the world over, they rip up the dancefloor with the virtuosity of trained jazz musicians. The group has thousands of gigs under their belt and have played with household names such as Mark Ronson, Jamiroquai, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, Amy Winehouse, John Legend & The Roots and The Brand New Heavies. Comprising Malcolm Strachan on trumpet and flugelhorn, Atholl Ransome on tenor sax and flute and Rob Mitchell on alto and baritone sax, the horn section that was voted by BBC 6 Music listeners to form Craig Charles’ Fantasy Funk Band will get the dancefloor bouncing! The Horns’ rhythm section have worked with bands such as Lack Of Afro, Finlay Quayle, Nightmares On Wax and Corinne Bailey Rae, and you get one of the finest bands in the business, featuring Ben Barker on guitar, George Cooper on keys, Kenny Higgins on bass and Erroll Rollins on drums. Top this off with lead vocals from special guest vocalist John McCallum, The Haggis Horns create an unforgettable vibe in their unmissable live shows.
