http://www.independentvenueweek.com/

Bringing together some of the most relevant, important and historic venues around the country, Independent Venue Week supported by PRS for Music is a 6 day long series of gigs running from 28th January - 2nd February 2014.

Independent venues sit at the heart of their local community, providing a vital lifeline to upcoming artists early in their careers whilst bringing together those fans who are passionate about live music. With more and more small to medium sized venues continuing to close around the country, Independent Venue Week supports those venues that play such a significant role to musicians and fans alike.

Natalie Ross

Wonderful Polka Dot pop that would sound as good in your smart phone as it would playing from your nan's vintage transistor' BBC Introducing.

This Splendidly kooky Singer channels the 1940’s & 50’s harmonies in her own quirky style through 21st Century sensibilities. With her finely crafted self penned songs, sassy Pop Star Natalie will have you salivating in your seat, well that's if your not up 'n' dancing already.

Jamie Lenman

http://www.jamielenman.com/

Jamie Lenman is best known as the singer, guitarist and songwriter for underground heroes Reuben, who toured and released relentlessly for most of the noughties. Their combination of brutal riffs, heartfelt melodies and frank, intelligent lyrics, together with their explosive live shows and innovative promo videos won them a hard core of dedicated fans and respect amongst peers and critics alike.

After a string of independent singles, regularly voted top of the MTV2 charts, the band released two albums with Xtra Mile (Frank Turner, Future Of The Left, Against Me!) and joined bands like Biffy Clyro, Fightstar and Billy Talent on tours around the UK and Europe. Upon their return, they founded their own label, Hideous Records, through which they released a live DVD documentary and their third, critically acclaimed album, ‘In Nothing We Trust’.

Eventually, the pressure of being in the band as well as running their own label and working full time jobs became too much, and they called it a day in 2008, releasing a posthumous rarities collection through Xtra Mile in 2009.

Now, after an absence of five years, Jamie Lenman returns to the UK music scene with his colossal double album ‘Muscle Memory’, a twenty three-track behemoth ready to bend the mind of the willing listener. Recorded over two years with INWT producer Sean Genockey, ‘Muscle Memory’ splits the trademark Reuben sound in two, with one disc focussing on melody and other focussing on riffery.

Lenman, who has spent his time since the end of the band working as a professional illustrator, has brought all his skills to bear on the lavish artwork accompanying the record, released through Xtra Mile on the 4th of November – the week Lenman turns 31. He will embark upon a short UK tour, backed by his Heavy/Mellow band, in December.

CeCe

http://www.cecemusic.co.uk/

CeCe is a young artist who perfectly combines elements of dark folk, blues, soul, pop and more. At just 19 years old, she is already a true innovator of melody and style. Her voice alternates between a world-weary sigh and a powerful, soulful falsetto in her debut EP ‘Framework’ which is set to be released 3rd June on her family label Quatre Femmes Records.

With a presence on stage powerful beyond her years, CeCe sings her carefully crafted songs and mesmerizing melodies to lyrics such as ‘I just want to crawl through your window’ simultaneously showing boldness while still wanting to be looked after.

The production of her EP ‘Framework’ only enhances the ambience and urban feel in CeCe’s songs and that is the least you’d expect from the underground producer Adam Crisp (Entrepreneurs) who has recently worked with Dels feat Jo Goddard, Marina &The Diamonds, Everything Everything, Foe, Oh Minnows, Is Tropical, Ghost poet.
