Mixmaestro DJ Gringo Da Parada has hosted Disorder and Progress at the Arts Club for two years, bringing the fantastic and the eclectic together in a cosmopolitan party mash-up each month with characteristic ebullience behind the decks.



Rio Calling shifts a change in direction, which is part of a subtle change to Saturday nights at the Notting Hill Arts Club, where we're still presenting the best tropical musical mixes and taking you on thrilling audio journeys around the globe, but we're signposting the destinations a little more clearly.



Gringo Da Parada has a long association with Brazilian music in particular, as he was one of the founders and the principal DJ of the Brazilian-French club-bar-restaurant Favela Chic in both Paris and London, and the Musical Director behind their three 'Postonove' compilations. He has produced legendary Brazilian singer Seu Jorge and is one of the organisers of the Festival Encantado in Rio De Janeiro (bringing international artists to play in the magical, natural beauty of Alto da Boa Vista, the largest urban forest in the world) which will have its third event in the June 2014.

Gringo Da Parada revels in creative juxtaposition - surfing across musical waves, genres and decades - and there's a huge range of Brazilian music for him to dive in to, from smooth bossa novas to baile funk bangers, hard rock and hip hop to electropop, and tecnobrega to carnival craziness.
