Notting Hill Live presents No Quarter

09/07/2014

About this Event

live: Fresh Dixie Project, Sway Clark II, Twin Wild, William Carl Jr, Tusks (pic)

decks: TV Nights and guests.

Notting Hill Live presents No Quarter is now a monthly Wednesday nighter (on the second week of each month) focused on presenting quality artists without any genre limits as we showcase great new live music.

We kick-off the on-stage action with Tusks, who Supajam have described as "one of the brightest upcoming talents in the emerging electronic singer-songwriter scene. Subtle, yet colossal, tunes give Emily's icy vocal a platform to glide upon, and has been the muse for producers all over the planet who want her on their tracks".

Next up, we welcome William Carl Jr, a singer, songwriter, producer and remixer that has recently been the darling of the blogs due to some official remixes for the likes of Lana Del Rey, John Newman and Dan Croll.

We then introduce you to Twin Wild, a four-piece from London who have been given online support by the likes of Aluna George and You Me At Six as well as recent play on BBC Radio 1.

We're then delighted to introduce you to Sway Clarke II. Originally from Toronto and now based in Berlin, he is a singer songwriter who is heavily influenced by hip hop and folk and who apparently has a very questionable sense of humour.

Closing the live portion of the night, we have The Fresh Dixie Project. With their crossover swing, their energetic sound fuses intense grooves and raucous sax lines with infectious melodies and powerful riffs. Played hard, fast and laced with virtuosity, their songs are just as electrifying for the feet as they are for the ears.

After the live sets DJ TV Nights and guests spin the tunes. Expect Motown, classic British '60s beats and Northern Soul stompers in the mix.

7pm-2am; £5 (£3 concs) on the door.

Please remember to bring your photo ID to the venue, especially if you are under 25.
