Room2Move returns on the August Bank holiday weekend, Sun 24th August for the second installment of their summer residency at Clapham’s Arch 635, with another big headliner, this time the phenomenal King Unique! Arch 635 occupies two arches underneath Clapham High St Overground station, just up the High St from the ‘South West Four’ festivities taking place that weekend. Maybe you’re coming for a post festival mash-up; maybe you’re heading south after a fun day at Notting Hill Carnival or maybe you’re just waiting to start your bank holiday weekend fashionably late? Whatever the reason, Room2Move wants YOU to come party with them! Promoter John McGeehan has assembled yet another world-class line-up of electronic musical talent. For your listening and dancing pleasure!

MAIN ROOM

Formed in 2001 originally by Matt Thomas & Matthew Roberts, King Unique hit the floor running, claiming the title of Undisputed Remix Champs by scoring five Essential New Tunes in five months on Pete Tong's "Essential Selection" Radio 1 show. Fast forward to 2006, where this saw the end of the original duo’s studio partnership, as Matt Thomas took on the King Unique role as a solo artist with KU’s sound rising to new heights with a mixture of euphoric acidic melodies, dark brooding techno vibes and old skool beats finding its way on John Digweed's Bedrock label and projects with equally massive artists including James Lavelle and Hernan Catteneo. The renowned King Unique DJ set has made a regular addition to the line up of some of the world's most respected clubs and biggest festivals, playing everywhere from ultra-hip blacked-out sweat boxes in Tokyo to euphoric crowds of thousands on the tropical beaches of Madeira. An increasingly hectic international schedule has seen Matt racking up enough air-miles for a free trip to the moon, with gigs in Sydney, Panama, Budapest, Seoul, Helsinki, Mexico City, Dubai, Rosario, Bogota, Kazantip, Vilnius - just to name a handful. KU’s most notable releases to date include the massive remix of Underworld’s “Two Months Off”, “2000000 Suns” and “Vamoosh” with Anthony Pappa to name but a few. The forthcoming Bedrock compilation album “Underground Sound of Ibiza” sees his new “Brakes” track showcased on CD1.This will be Matt’s first appearance for Room2Move, his only London performance and will be playing the closing set in Arch 635’s main room.
