KICKBACK COMEDY PRESENT + + Nick Wilty + Paddy Lennox + Lara A. King.

09/08/2014

About this Event

Doors: 7:00 pm.

Headlining this show is the phenomenal Nick Wilty, ("Just three adjectives to describe Wilty - brilliant, brilliant and brilliant." Chortle).

Opening we have the brilliant Paddy Lennox, (“comedy the way it should be: a laugh-a-minute which leaves the audience wishing the show was just a little bit longer ... gentle Irish lilt belies a mischievous sense of humour.” Fest).

Nick Wilty

Wilty has the sort of easy-going, blokey style that could convince a hundred bar-room loudmouths that they could oh-so easily become stand-ups. They'd be wrong. For while Wilty makes it all seem so effortless, just like that witty mate shooting the breeze in the pub, he's a remarkably skilful comic, pinpointing the humour in any anecdote and delivering it with brilliant accuracy.

Paddy Lennox

Paddy has been tour support for Rhod Gilbert, Lucy Porter and Micky Flannagan. He started Stand-Up in December 2001 only to be interrupted with a couple of comedies at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and a couple of surreal commercials in far off lands, before returning to his new found passion. A naturally funny, warm comic who plays all the big (and small) clubs in the UK. He has also gigged in South Africa, Germany, Ireland, Croatia, Estonia, Malta, and lil' ol' Slovenia.

Lara A King

Lara A. King has been coming to the Fringe for twenty years in innumerable guises and with various different acts. This year she returns as the reigning winner of the 2011 Funny Women competition and her prize is an eight-day run at the Assembly’s Bosco tent in George Square Gardens. King is a naturally gifted people pleaser. A personality test at the Job Centre told her so and the reactions of her audience confirm the diagnosis. She has a very relaxed and informal manner on stage, as at ease chatting with the audience as she is seamlessly slipping into song.

Debra Jane Appleby (MC):

Winner of both of The Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year and Funny Women Comedy Award in 2005, Debra Jane Appelby is fast becoming one of the most popular comedians on the circuit. Currently recording for the BBC and Paramount Comedy and with interest from Channel 4, Debra-Jane Appelby is making her mark on both the comedy circuit and the broadcast industry.

We also have the cheeky Lara A King, (“Witty, charming and very funny” Broadway Baby). Your MC is the outstanding Debra-Jane Appleby, ("Her strength is in performance, confident, punchy…" Chortle).

Price: £12adv//£10 NUS.
